ASK Rīga is the name of several sports teams based in Riga, Latvia. "ASK" stands for "Armijas Sporta Kluba," or "Army Sports Club."
The basketball team ASK Rīga was popular in 1950s and 1960s. It won European club championships in 1958, 1959, and 1960. The team continued to play in the Soviet League until the collapse of Soviet Union in early 1990s.
A basketball team with this name was reformed on March 23, 2006, sponsored by the Riga City Council, the National Armed Forces, Parex Bank and other sponsors. It currently participates in the Latvian Basketball League and Baltic Basketball League.
