Al Feeney

Democrat Albert G. Feeney (November 12, 1892 - November 12, 1950) became mayor of Indianapolis in 1948 and served until his death on November 12. 1950. Prior to become mayor, he played football at the University of Notre Dame alongside Knute Rockne.
After college Feeney played for the Indianapolis Em-Roes, a Midwestern barnstorming team. He was known as their "shooting ace," who sported a wicked two-hand set shot. He also played football for the Canton Bulldogs of the nascent National Football League.
