Alvan Adams

Alvan Leigh Adams (b. July 19, 1954 in Lawrence, Kansas) is a former professional basketball player. After starring at the University of Oklahoma, the 6'9" (2.06 m) forward/center was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 4th pick of the 1975 NBA Draft. Adams, who won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1976 and led the Suns to an improbable season that landed them in the NBA Finals, was named to the NBA All-Star Game that season, and was also a member of the All-NBA Rookie Team. Adams spent his entire career with the Suns and retired in 1988 with 13,910 career points. His jersey number(33), is retired, but he is allowing Suns forward Grant Hill to wear it.
