Ambrosia Anderson (born March 14, 1984 Hawaii) is a professional basketball player in the WNBA for New York Liberty. She is 6ft 1in.
The Detroit Shock drafted the 6’1” Anderson from Brigham Young University with the 17th pick in the second round of the 2006 draft. She was then traded to the Minnesota Lynx for Jacqueline Batteast. On May 9 she was waived by Minnesota and immediately picked up by the Connecticut Sun. She appeared in one game for the Sun before being waived on June 29.
“Anderson gives us added depth up front. She has good size for someone who plays the 3 and also adds some good offensive skills to our squad. She is a nice mid-season pick up for us,” said Blazejowski.
A 2006 graduate from Brigham Young, Anderson appeared in 120 games and averaged 10.7 ppg and 5.3 rpg during her career with the Cougars. As a senior in 2006, she was named the MWC Co-Player of the Year and All-MWC First Team. She also became one of only 18 players in BYU women’s basketball history to surpass the 1,000 point mark. In 2006 she was named a Kodak All-American Honorable Mention
