Biography
He's been a mainstay in the streetball circuit in Baltimore/DC for several years and has also played with the SBA streetball league. In one of his more recent streetball games down in DC in the summer of 2005 he was the game-high scorer with 40 points in a game that included the likes of Steve Francis, Nick Van Excel and Sam Cassell, among others...
Back when he was coming up in Baltimore, his AAU coach gave him the name Silk after a game against a team from Virginia where he scored 36 points. A reporter had asked the coach about his ability to score at such a rapid rate and how he made it look so effortless- the response was that he refers to him as ‘Silk’ because he makes it look so smooth.
After killing it against the AND 1 Mix Tape players as a member of the opposing team for a few games in 2005, Silk was signed this past off season to officially join the tour. Last summer, one of his best performances was in Milwaukee where his crazy handle brought three game-stopping standing ovations and he proved he was legit. He’ll be on the AND 1 squad for the 2006 tour and will be featured in the newest Mix Tape, Volume 9, that hits stores in July.
