- 1948 - The original Baltimore Bullets (who folded in 1954) overcome a 21-point halftime deficit to defeat the host Philadelphia Warriors, 66-63, in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. It remains the greatest comeback in Finals history.
- 1957 - The Boston Celtics survive over the St. Louis Hawks, 125-123, in double overtime, in Game 7 of the NBA Finals at Boston Garden to win their first title. They are led by rookies Tom Heinsohn (37 points, 23 rebounds) and Bill Russell (19 points, 32 rebounds).
- 1975 - Larry McNeill of the Kansas City-Omaha Kings shoots 12-for-12 from the field, setting an NBA Playoff record for most field goals without a miss, in a 102-95 win over Chicago in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
- 1986 - The Boston Celtics close out the regular season with a 135-107 win over New Jersey, giving the Celtics a 40-1 record at home. They set the NBA record for most home-court wins and highest home winning percentage (.976) in a season.
