BJ League

BJ League or Basketball Japan League also referred to as bj-league (日本語: bjリーグ, 日本プロバスケットボールリーグ) is a men's professional basketball league in Japan. Their slogan is "We want to play basketball"(バスケがしたい). The bj-league is not recognized by the Japan Basketball Association (JBA), the national governing body.

History
Ikuo Kimura, Toshimitsu Kawachi and Hiromu Ikeda established the management company, "Japan Professional Basketball League" on March 24, 2005. The bj-league began with 6 teams (including 2 teams which withdrew from JBL Pro Superleague, the premier pro league in Japan) on November 5, 2005. The bj-league continues to expand the number of teams' the Toyama Grouses and Takamatsu Five Arrows joined the league in 2006. The Rising Fukuoka and the Ryukyu Golden Kings joined the league in 2007.

Champions
The Osaka Evessa have won three championship titles, including the 2008 finals. They stretched winning streak to three.
