Billy Widner begins his second season as the President of the 2006 D-League Champions Albuquerque Thunderbirds. Previously, Billy spent four years with the NBA Dallas Mavericks as the telemarketing manager directing season ticket and group sales. Billy said the decision to return home and work for the NBA Development League was an easy one.

He looks forward to providing a new and different type of entertainment for the people of Albuquerque, one that will help advertisers reach clients and provide a family-friendly activity. As a team president Billy is excited to develop talent at every position, whether it is on the court or in the front office. He looks forward to helping others fulfill personal goals, whether it's becoming future leaders in Albuquerque or future leaders in professional sports.
