Blake Ahearn

Blake Ahearn was a shooting guard (2003-2007) for the Missouri State Bears. He was poised to finish his career with the highest NCAA free-throw percentage in the nation but he failed with a percentage of 92.5%. Ahearn finished his career as a 94% free throw shooter, 435 for 460, all time best %. He also holds a single season record at 97.5%. He was a 2 time all-Missouri Valley Conference first teamer.

High school career

Ahearn attended DeSmet Jesuit High School where he played on the varsity basketball team for three years. When Blake was a junior, he broke his wrist after dunking the basketball during a district basketball game, and was forced to miss the state championship gave vs. Vashon High School, where DeSmet lost 82-27, the steepest loss in Missouri high school basketball championship history.
