CBA Finals Champions
From Hoopedia
The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA; Chinese 中国男子篮球职业联赛) has conducted a playoff tournament every year since its founding. Until 2004 the championship was decided in a best-of-five playoff; since then it has been a best-of-seven series. The Bayi Rockets have dominated the league, winning eight championships and losing in the championship series three times. The Guangdong Southern Tigers have won four championships and been runner-up three times.
Since 2005, the league champion has been awarded the Mou Zuoyun Cup (牟作云杯). Mou Zuoyun (born 1913) was a member of the Chinese basketball team that played in the 1936 Summer Olympics, and later served as a coach and a pioneer in building Chinese basketball.
