As spring approaches every year, colleges and universities of every size and affiliation, in every corner of the country look forward to post-season tournaments. These playoffs will make or break the season and will be the subject of dissection for years to come. The National Collegiate Athletic Administration's three divisions each host tournaments for men and women, as do the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' two divisions and the National Junior College Athletic Association's three divisions. And let's not forget the National Invitational Tournament (NIT), the tournament that started it all. The NIT now consists of two tournaments: one for the men and another for women.
