In 1985, the New York Knicks chose Georgetown’s Patrick Ewing as the first overall pick in the NBA’s first ever draft lottery. The lottery has since been a league staple, often determining the futures of non-playoff teams, not to mention the destinations of college or prep superstars such as David Robinson, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan and LeBron James.
