Chuck Share

Chuck Share (born March 14, 1927 in Akron, Ohio) is a retired American basketball player. He was the first draft pick in the 1950 NBA Draft, the NBA's first. (All the previous drafts had been conducted by the Basketball Association of America, the NBA's predecessor.) He was selected by the Boston Celtics, but never played for the Celtics. He started his career with the Fort Wayne Pistons. His NBA career lasted nine years as he played for the Pistons, Milwaukee-St. Louis Hawks, and the Minneapolis Lakers.
