Dale Barnstable
From Hoopedia
Dale Barnstable was a college basketball player. He was involved, along with teammates Alex Groza and Ralph Beard in a point-shaving scandal that rocked basketball in the early 1950s.
He played college ball at the University of Kentucky, where he was one of coach Adolph Rupp's "Fabulous Five", winning the NCAA Championships in 1948 and 1949. In the 1949-50 season Barnstable was a team captain.
Barnstable was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the seventh round of the 1950 NBA Draft, but he did not make the team.
He and his teammates admitted to accepting bribes of $500 each to throw a game. They were all banned for life from the NBA.
