Demetris Nichols

Demetris Nichols (born September 4, 1984) is a former small forward for the Syracuse Orangemen basketball team. Known for his accurate shooting, he was drafted in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2007 NBA Draft, but immediately traded to the New York Knicks for the Knicks' 2008 second round draft choice. He is currently playing for Chicago Bulls.
College
As a freshman in 2003-2004, Nichols averaged 4.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He averaged 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore. During his junior year, Nichols' minutes jumped from 12.9 to 33.3 per game, and he averaged 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds. As a senior, Nichols led the team with 18.9 points per game, and also averaged 5.4 rebounds. For his play that year, he was discussed as a possible Big East player of the year, and ended up being selected as a unanimous decision to the All Big East Team. He was also selected to the three-point shooting contest, and finished second to Aaron Brooks. Demetris Nichols finished second in scoring during the 2007 Las Vegas Summer League.
