Detroit Gems

The Detroit Gems were a National Basketball League team who played one season, compiling a 4-40 record in 1946-47. In 1947 a group of Minneapolis businessmen fronted by Sid Hartman purchased the Gems and moved them to Minnesota, where they were renamed the Minneapolis Lakers.
