Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds

Eastern New Mexico University, (abbreviated ENMU), frequently called Eastern, is a state university in Portales, Roosevelt County, New Mexico, USA. It is the most recently-founded state university in New Mexico (legislated in 1927, opened in 1934).

ENMU's main campus is located in Portales and there are also two community college degree-granting branches, at Ruidoso and Roswell.

ENMU's athletic teams participate in the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference. Teams composed of males are nicknamed the Greyhounds and those of females are called the Zias.

Creighton basketball coach Dana Altman and University of Nevada basketball coach Mark Fox are both alumni of ENMU.
