The International Maxibasketball Federation, FIMBA, is the governing organization of Maxibasketball. Maxibasketball is competitive, organized basketball for women over 30 and men over 35.

The goal of FIMBA is to promote, organize, develop, work up, direct and control the practice of Maxibasketball in the whole world. For that aim, FIMBA gives support to all countries, securing and affirming the sport continuity of human being. Since its creation and every two years, five World Maxibasketball Championships had been organized, under its regulations and appointment. Two in South America, one in North America, one in Europe and one in Central America. And two regional events: One European Championship and one Pan-American Championship. Fifty-one worldwide countries organize periodically Maxibasketball events under FIMBA rules.
