Francis "Stretch" Meehan

Francis P. "Stretch" Meehan (1897? - February 5, 1967) was, at 6'7", one of the tallest basketball players in the game in the 1920s.

He played for Seton Hall briefly, before turning pro. He played for the Paterson Legionnaires, Ridgewood-Orange (of the short-lived National Basketball League) and the Paterson Crescents. He also played with the Philadelphia SPHAs (who sometimes played as the Philadelphia Hebrews or Philadelphia Warriors), and was one of a few gentiles to play on the SPHAs team over several decades.

Francis Meehan was part of the inaugural class elected to the Seton Hall Athletic Hall of Fame in 1973.
