Irving (Irv) Torgoff (born March 6, 1917 - October 21, 1993) was an American collegiate and professional basketball player.

Torgoff was a consensus All-American in 1938-39, his senior year at Long Island University. He was a captain on that team, which he led to a 20-0 regular season record and a National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship with a victory in the finals agains previously-undefeated Chicago Loyola, 44-32. That LIU team was later designated the Helms Foundation National Championship.

He played professionally in the National Basketball League with the Detroit Eagles in 1939-40 and in the American Basketball League with the Philadelphia SPHAs, 1940-1943. The SPHAs won the league championship in 1941 and 1943; Torgoff was among the league scoring leaders all three seasons with the Philadelphia. In 1941 the SPHAs won the Max Rosenblum Tournament, defeating two of the best teams in the world -- the New York Rens and the Original Celtics -- in the process. Torgoff led all scorers in the championship game with 17.

Torgoff also played in the Basketball Association of America (the forerunner of the NBA) with the Washington Capitols in 1946-48, and for the Baltimore Bullets, and the Philadelphia Warriors in 1948-49.
