The Kansas City-Omaha Kings were a National Basketball Association team from 1972 to 1978. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska (they divided their home games between the two cities) from Cincinnati (where they had been the Cincinnati Royals) in 1972. They included Omaha, Nebraska in their name until they abandoned the Omaha market in 1978. After that they were known as the Kansas City Kings until they moved to Sacramento in 1985.

The team changed its name to Kings when it moved from Cincinnati because there was already a Kansas City Kings Royals Major League Baseball team in town.
