Keith Smart

Jonathan Keith Smart (born September 21, 1964 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is an American former basketball player and current coach. He is best-remembered for hitting the game-winning shot in the 1987 NCAA Division I Men's Tournament championship game. The shot gave the Indiana Hoosiers a 74-73 victory over the Syracuse Orangemen.
After two seasons at Indiana, Smart was signed by the San Antonio Spurs, where he played two games in the 1988-89 season. Smart was more successful in the Continental Basketball Association where he played six seasons before retiring in 1995. Smart also played one or two seasons for the Halifax Windjammers of the World Basketball League (WBL) in the early 1990s, and one season with the WBL's Worcester Counts in 1989.
Smart also played in the Philippines, with the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association, in the 1989 Reinforced Conference.
In 2002, Smart finished the season as interim coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His record was 9-31 with the club. Currently, Smart is an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.
