Les Jepsen

Les Jepsen (born June 24, 1967 in Williston, North Dakota) is an American former professional basketball player.

A 7'0" center, Jepsen played at Bowbells High School in Bowbells, North Dakota, averaging 26.7 points, 18.3 rebounds, and 6.0 blocks per game as a senior, and was named first team all-state. He was coached by Perry Bohl, Kevin Flaagan and Rod Ulland.

He was recruited by George Raveling and Ron Righter to the University of Iowa in 1985, along with incoming freshman B.J. Armstrong, Roy Marble, Ed Horton and junior college transfer Kevin Gamble, of which all five went on to play in the National Basketball Association.

Jepsen redshirted after a pre-season stress fracture in 1985-1986, then played four years under new head coach Dr. Tom Davis and assistant coaches Bruce Pearl, Gary Close and Rudy Washington.

He received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1990 and later earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Iowa in 1997.

Jepsen was selected 28th overall in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors where he played the 1990-1991 season under head coach Don Nelson before being traded along with Mitch Richmond to the Sacramento Kings for Billy Owens on November 1st, 1991, shortly before the opening day of the 1991-92 season.

He also played for the Rockford Lightning and the Fargo Fever in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), and also played professionally in Europe in 1997. He retired from professional basketball in 1998 and went on with his career in finance and also residential real estate sales.

He currently lives in St. Paul, Minnesota where he has owned and operated Jepsen Investment Management since 1995, and also active in residential real estate sales.
