Linda Frohlich

Linda Frohlich also spelled Linda Frölich (born June 23, 1979) is an American professional basketball in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
Considered the best women’s player in Germany, Fröhlich enters her fifth WNBA training camp and first in Indiana. She is a versatile power forward and her game has improved during the past two seasons overseas in Italy and Russia. She wears number 13 on Fenerbahçe Istanbul as worn in WNBA.

Early Life
Linda Fröhlich was born on June 23, 1979 in Pforzheim in Southern Germany, where she lived for the first four years of her life. After that her parents bought a house in the northern part of the country. She spent her childhood in a Mayberry-type existence: playing outside, gardening, taking care of a menagerie of pets.
She is the eldest of five children, three sisters and a brother. Linda didn't start off playing basketball, her mother strongly discouraged it. Only after Linda failed in ballet, judo, did she allow her to begin play.
WNBA
Linda made history when she became the first UNLV basketball player to be drafted in the WNBA. She was the first draft pick of the New York Liberty in 2002, (26th overall). Waived during training camp with Phoenix Mercury in 2004. Waived by Charlotte Sting at the end of training camp in 2005. Signed as a free agent by Indiana Fever on November 2, 2006.
International
Linda plays Fenerbahçe Istanbul now and also played for Spartak Moscow in 2005-06 season.
Frohlich has become a fan favorite among the blue-and-yellow fans of Fenerbahçe Istanbul.
