- 1931 - WGL radio broadcasts the first game in the American Basketball League championship series between the Fort Wayne Hoosiers and the Brooklyn Visitations. It is the first professional basketball game to be broadcast live on radio.
- 1964 - Scott Skiles, former NBA player and coach, is born in LaPorte, Indiana.
- 1997 - Bob Knight (Right) of Indiana wins his 700th career game in a 70-66 victory over Wisconsin. He becomes the youngest coach in NCAA history to reach that milestone.
- 2006 - A new basketball attendance record is set by the Syracuse Orangemen, as 33,633 fans jam in to watch Syracuse finish its regular season against the Villanova Wildcats.
