Martell Webster

Martell Webster (born December 4, 1986 in Edmonds, Washington) is an American professional basketball player currently a member of the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA. The 6'7" (2.01 m), 229 lbs (95 kg) shooting guard was selected by the Blazers with the sixth pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. He is nicknamed "The Definition" as a play on his surname (popularized by Webster's Dictionary), given to him by a personal friend. Webster is also the cousin of Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks.
He was assigned with the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA Development League to whom the Blazers assigned him in January, 2006. He returned to the Portland Trail Blazers in February, and proceeded to score his career high of 24 against Boston Celtics on February 24, 2006. He has family in Alaska and other places around the US. He is one of the last ever high school lottery picks to be chosen in an NBA Draft due to 2005's new draft eligibility rules.
