Midwest Basketball Conference
From Hoopedia
The Midwest Basketball Conference was a professional league with teams stretching from Buffalo, New York to Chicago, Illinois. It lasted for two seasons, 1935-37. In 1937 team owners decided to change the name to National Basketball League because "Midwest Conference" meant "Big Ten" -- the collegiate conference -- to many sports page readers.
