Muncie Central High School, located in Muncie, Indiana, is a public high school. The school is part of the Muncie Community Schools Corp.

The Muncie Central nickname, "Bearcats," originated in 1923 Some fans claimed the basketball team "fought like bears," while others argued that they "fought like cats." A compromise was agreed to: "Bearcats".

Bearcats have a long tradition of success in boys basketball. Muncie Central has won eight Indiana State Basketball Boys Championships (1928, 1931, 1951, 1952, 1963, 1978, 1979, 1988). Five Bearcats coaches have since been inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. The school also boasts 50 sectional titles, 33 regional titles, 17 semi-state titles, and five state runnerups.
