NBAE co-produced the theatrical releases, The Year of the Yao (2004), Like Mike, the hit Twentieth Century Fox film from 2002 starring Lil Bow Wow and the IMAX film Michael Jordan to the Max (2000), which remains the highest grossing sports IMAX film in history. NBAE has enjoyed a long history of working with the film industry, providing authenticity to basketball films and scenes since the early 1980s. NBAE’s involvement in films includes securing current and former players as actors, assisting with set and arena locations, and providing NBA and WNBA product placement.
