NBA Jam Extreme

NBA Jam Extreme is a a basketball arcade game by Acclaim Entertainment that follows the 1996-97 NBA season. Acclaim ended up winning the exclusive rights to use the NBA Jam name. Acclaim used the name on NBA Jam Extreme in 1996, a 3D version of Jam which featured Marv Albert (instead of Tim Kitzrow) doing commentary. Some of the most famous and repeated sayings of that year came from Albert saying, "Razzle Dazzle", "BOOM-SHAKALAKA", and "He's on Fire!".

Features

This game had new special features, including featuring NBA SuperStars of the 90's: Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, Shawn Kemp, Hakeem Olajuwon, Jerry Stackhouse, Cedric Ceballos, Reggie Miller, Glenn Robinson, Anfernee Hardaway, Dikembe Mutombo, and Christian Laettner.

Conflicts

Due to contractual obligations from acting in the 1996 movie Space Jam, a few players were not allowed to be featured in NBA Jam Extreme. Chief among those barred from appearing in NBA Jam Extreme were Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. The conflicts were from Shaq-Fu, Barkley Shut-Up and Jam, and Michael Jordan's Chaos in the Windy City. Shaquille O'Neal was unable to be featured in the game because of his contractual obligations to the movies Kazaam, Good Burger and the video game Shaq-Fu.
