National Basketball League (1932-33)
From Hoopedia
The National Basketball League was a professional association based in the Midwest, consisting of some of the top teams in Indiana and Ohio. The league lasted only one season, 1932-33, before disbanding. The Akron Firestone Non-Skids defeated the Indianapolis Kautskys in the championship game, 32-31, before a crowd of 4,000 in Indianapolis to claim the only league title.
Several of the teams that made up this league formed the Midwest Basketball Conference in 1935, which changed its name to the National Basketball League in 1937 (and merged with the Basketball Association of America in 1949 to create the National Basketball Association (NBA).
