  • 1990 - The host Phoenix Suns rout the Denver Nuggets, 173-143, to tie a record set in 1959 by the Boston Celtics for the most points scored in a non-overtime game. The Suns scored 107 points in the first half, breaking the record of 90 set by the Nuggets only three days earlier in a 161-153 loss to San Antonio.
  • 1995 - Indiana and Sacramento players brawl, resulting in fines and suspensions for a single-game record 16 players. The commotion begins when Pacer Eddie Johnson fouls Bobby Hurley of the Kings on a lay-up attempt and the Kings' Michael Smith pushes Pacer Dale Davis and vice versa. Shoving escalates until both benches empty and numerous punches are thrown. Only Smith and Davis are ejected. The fines total $80,000 dollars and game suspensions total 18. Davis and Smith receive the severest penalties: two-game suspensions without pay and $20,000 in fines. The penalties involved eight players on each team, which had to be served alphabetically because NBA requires each team to dress at least eight players. Kings players: Causwell, Edney, Houston, Marciulionis, Polynice, Simmons, and W. Williams. Pacers: Best, Caldwell, Ferrel, Hoiberg, Jackson, Miller, and Schintzius.
