Pavel Podkolzin

Pavel Podkolzin (born January 15, 1985 in Novosibirsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is a Russian professional basketball player formerly in the NBA and the NBA Development League.

Podkolzin is a 2.26 m (7' 5"), 127 kg (280 lb) center. He made his debut with Lokomotiv Novosibirsk, in the Russian 2nd Division, during the 2001-02 season. He moved to Italy on December 2001, signed by Pallacanestro Varese (Metis). He was selected by the Utah Jazz in the 2004 NBA Draft and then traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He was originally available for selection in the previous year's draft, but abruptly pulled out just days before because he declared he was not yet ready to propel himself into the NBA. On August 5, 2006, he was waived by the Mavericks after appearing briefly in just six games spanning two seasons.

Has been member of the Russian Cadets National Team who won the silver medal at the 2000 European Cadets Championship.
