Rudy Fernandez

Rodolfo (Rudy) Fernández Farrés (born April 4, 1985 in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands) is a Spanish professional basketball player. He is a 6'6" shooting guard.
Fernandez has been participating in international basketball competitions since he was sixteen years old. He played at the European Junior Championships and the 2004 Summer Olympics. Most recently, he represented Spain at the 2006 FIBA World Championship, where he contributed 9.1 points per game and won a gold medal. He is currently affiliated with the professional club Joventut Badalona.
On June 28, 2007, Fernández was taken 24th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, who subsequently traded the rights to the pick to the Portland Trail Blazers for cash. In July 2007 his contract with Joventut was extended through 2011. Due to a large buyout clause in his European contract, he is not expected to play in the NBA until at least the 2008-2009 season.
Rudy's sister, Marta Fernández, plays in the WNBA for the Los Angeles Sparks.
