- 1998 - The 1998 WNBA Brazil Tour, featuring 12 players from 10 teams, traveled to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to compete against top teams in Brazil.
- 2005 - Greece downs Germany, 78-62, to win the European Championship. Theodoros Papaloukas (above) leads the victors with 22 points. It is Greece's second gold medal in the history of the EuroBasket competition.
