I just have to express my sincere regrets regarding the NBA. I played basketball from as early as I can remember through college. What I see today is not basketball. It is ice hockey minus pads on a wooden floor. Why have those in power allowed the game to degenerate to such a level? Sure, the players are bigger, faster, though not necessarily smater. They play individual ball versus team ball and are thugs.

Those of us who grew up with the game learned to appreciate the finess and grace of the sport. The blocking and tackling of today's game is very disappointing. Even worse the level of cotact and roughness has now permeated the college and high school levels.

Is there not some way to return the game to its origins? It would take some time, however, it would be much more entertaining. At the present rate the game will have to allow players to wear pads and helmets. That is NOT what the game is about.
