The Target Center opened it doors on October 13, 1990 at the cost of approximately $104,000,000
• The Minnesota Timberwolves played their first game in their new home, Target Center, on October 16, 1990 vs. the Philadelphia 76ers
• Target Center was sold by original owners Marv Wolfenson and Harvey Ratner to the City of Minneapolis in March, 1995 and Ogden Entertainment managed the facility.
• Target Center’s management was acquired by SFX Entertainment on September 22, 2000.
• SFX Entertainment was sold to Clear Channel Entertainment in early 2001
• Clear Channel Entertainment managed the venue and a Minneapolis based concert promoter office until May 2004.
• Midwest Entertainment Group (MEG), a joint venture between the MN Timberwolves and Nederlander Concerts, stepped in as the venue manager on May 1, 2004.
• In May of 2006, Midwest Entertainment Group (MEG), the venue management company shifted from the joint venture partnership to 100% ownership by the MN Timberwolves organization. The MN Timberwolves and its ownership group will continue on as the sole manager of the facility.
