Terry Stotts enters his second season as the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. He was hired as the ninth head coach in team history on July 8, 2005. Last season, he guided the Bucks to a 40-42 regular season record and a spot in the NBA playoffs, where the team lost in the first round to Detroit, 4-1. The season included many highlights, including NBA single-game records for most three-pointers in one quarter (11 in the third quarter on March 28, 2006 vs. Phoenix) and fewest turnovers in a game (2 on April 12006 vs. Indiana), as well as a new NBA record for becoming the first team in the shot clock era to win their first 13 games decided by 6 points or less (the previous record was 11).
A 13-year NBA veteran coach, Stotts spent the 2004-05 season as the lead assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors under first-year NBA head coach Mike Montgomery. With the youngest roster in the NBA (25 years, 225 days), the Warriors closed out the season with an 18-10 record, including a franchise best 14-4 finish over their final 18 games.
