Tom Chambers

Thomas Doane Chambers (born June 21, 1959 in Ogden, Utah) is a former NBA professional basketball star player, who also attended the University of Utah. At 6'10" tall and 230 lbs., Chambers primarily played the power forward position.
Chambers entered his name for the 1981 NBA Draft, and was drafted with the 8th overall selection by the then-San Diego Clippers. He was a member of the Clippers from 1981 to 1983. He then played for the Seattle SuperSonics for five seasons.
During his stay in Washington, Tom Chambers was named to the 1987 NBA All-Star team as a substitute for an injured player. Chambers played in that All-Star game and was named the Most Valuable Player award winner.
Following Chambers's time in Seattle, he joined the Phoenix Suns for five seasons, where he paired with All-Star point guard Kevin Johnson. Chambers averaged a career best 27.2 points per game in the 1989-90 season and scored a career high 60 points on March 24, 1990 against the Seattle Supersonics.
In the twilight of his playing career Chambers went on to play with the Utah Jazz for (1993-95), Maccabi Tel Aviv (1995-96), the Charlotte Hornets for (1997), and one minute for the Philadelphia 76ers.
As for Chambers' career stats, he averaged 18.1 points per game, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game over 1,107 games.
His awards include four NBA All-Star appearances (1986-87, and 1988-91), the 1986-87 NBA All-Star game MVP, and the All-NBA 2nd team twice (1988-90).
