Tony Gwynn
From Hoopedia
Anthony Keith Gwynn (born May 9, 1960 in Los Angeles, California) is a former right fielder in Major League Baseball, statistically one of the best and most consistent hitters in baseball history.
While he had a successful career in baseball he also was a star college basketball player at San Diego State, playing point guard for the Aztecs. Gwynn set the record for assists at the school. The same day the major league San Diego Padres drafted him, Gwynn was selected by the San Diego Clippers in the 10th round of the National Basketball Association 1981 draft. He never played a game for the Clippers. Instead, Gwynn opted to focus exclusively on baseball. The decision proved to be a good one, as he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, his first year of eligibility.
