Tulsa Golden Hurricane

The University of Tulsa is a private, comprehensive university awarding bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is currently the 91st ranked doctoral degree granting university in the nation by US News and World Report and is listed as one of the "Best 361 Colleges" by the Princeton Review. The university is historically affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA.
Tulsa's sports teams are called the Golden Hurricane, and participate in the NCAA's Division I-A Conference USA. Tulsa's current athletic director is Bubba Cunningham. The Tulsa teams are supported by The Sound of the Golden Hurricane marching band.
Men's Basketball
The men’s team is currently coached by Doug Wojcik.
The team has long been successful, especially since the hiring of Nolan Richardson in 1980. Many big-name coaches have since come through Tulsa as coaches, like University of Kansas coach Bill Self and University of Minnesota coach Tubby Smith. In 2005, Street & Smith's named the University of Tulsa as the 59th best college basketball program of all time.

Women's Basketball
In 2006, the Tulsa women's basketball team earned its first appearance in the NCAA tournament by winning Conference USA's regular-season and tournament championships. The Golden Hurricane's accomplishment came after back-to-back 19-win seasons and WNIT appearances.
