United Basketball Conference
From Hoopedia
The United Basketball Conference (UBC) is not so much a conference as a scheduling alliance of NCAA Division I independent schools. Members are:
The UBC will allow these teams consistent scheduling during January and February, when most teams are committed to their conference schedules. The possibility exists of the UBC's becoming a formally recognized NCAA conference, but this is unlikely, as it would take 13 years for the conference to be automatically eligible for the NCAA tournament, and even that is not a certainty.
The conference most likely will be a temporary home for these programs, as former members South Dakota State Jackrabbits, North Dakota State Bison and IPFW Mastodons joined the Summit League (formerly the Mid-Continent Conference) on July 1, 2007.
Utah Valley State College was the men's champion for the 2006-2007 season, with a 9-1 conference record and a 22-7 record overall.
