University of Rio Grande

The University of Rio Grande is located in Rio Grande, Ohio. The University of Rio Grande offers a range of courses and majors and is known in the region for its Education and Nursing programs. Additionally, its graduate program in teacher education is one of the few national programs that are structured around Howard Gardener's theory of Multiple Intelligences.

Rio Grande's athletic teams are known as the Redmen and Redwomen. They are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Mideast Conference.

Rio Grande's greatest basketball legacy is undoubtedly Bevo Francis, who set and still holds numerous collegiate scoring records in the early 1950s.
