Uploading Files

Hoopedia allows you to upload images to include in the articles you write. To upload a file, click on the "Upload file" link in the left navigation and follow the instructions.

Tips

• Make sure to name the file something that is easy to remember. If you are planning to upload multiple graphics files with similar content, name the files something consistent, like "UCLA_Mens_Team_1989.jpg", so that it's easy to see what it is.
• Note: filenames are case sensitive, so make sure you remember the exact use of capitalization when you upload a file.

Showing an image

• Let's say you've uploaded an image file named "SwarthmoreCollegeWomensTeam.jpg". To show that image on a page, use the following syntax:

[[image:SwarthmoreCollegeWomensTeam.jpg|thumb|Caption of Photo]]

• ...and where it says "Caption of Photo", you fill in whatever caption you like.
• This will size and format the picture nicely, and put the caption underneath. For more information about displaying images, consult the User's Guide.
