NBA Player template
Halo--
I love what your doing. The player template is coming along nicely. One minor suggestion: Do you think it helps to have the word "Image" before the image? I think it will look cleaner if you leave it out.
Keep it up!

More on Player template
Still lovin' it, Halo. Just have a couple of suggestions.
1. I don't think it helps to have wikipedia links to non-basketball topics, for example, the city in which a player is born. If any hoops fan wants to know more about a city, they should just go to wikipedia or someplace.
2. I think it's better to link to the year overview article only if you are talking about a strictly NBA matter. Better to link to the year article, which don't yet exist. If you look at 2007, you'll see what they will look like eventually.

Image search
Yo, Halo, you can save some time by searching for images we already have uploaded (e.g., Celts logo). Enter your search term in the "search" box at right. Go to the bottom of the results and uncheck all categories except "Image". Usually, but not always, you will find all the images already uploaded.
Shoes?
Halo-- Do you think it would be cool to add "Shoe" as the last item in the player info box? So many of these players have their own line of shoes, and many fans pay a lot of attention to them. Maybe have the name of the shoe (with a link to an article, see Air Jordan) and a thumb-sized image.
News
Halo--
I like the idea, but what do you have in mind? Start working here: Template:News and I will put it on the Main Page.
I put the "News" template on the Main Page, but I am skeptical about it. Most importantly, I don't think Wikis are useful for conveying news, unless there are a lot of people posting news and updating it frequently. It gets stale fast and sometimes lacks content.
For example, the Bobcats beating the Wizards story does not have a story linked to it. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to link it to the NBA.com article on the game.
Also, even though the NBA sponsors this site, they don't want it to be only about the NBA. In my opinion the biggest bball story of the last few days is Tennessee beating Memphis. (You probably thought I was going to say Sampson getting fired, just cause of my user name; I would put that at #2.)
I will keep this up as an experiment, but I want to see it evolve. For my money, you are making a huge contribution with the player, etc. info boxes, and I would prefer to see you work on that. Of course, you are probably full of other good ideas, and I don't want to get in your way there!

To Do
I don't really have a to-do list. You should do whatever interests you and you think other people will find interesting and useful. Only a few players have the info box you created. I wouldn't suggest that you put up boxes for all NBA players, but you might add them to current and former greats, or to all your favorite players.
Also, our team pages could use some re-thinking. It's kinda like the problem with bball news: There are so many sources for current news already (ESPN, NBA.com, local paper sites, CBS Sportsline, etc.), what can we add here?
If you're serious about the current news thing, there's a lot of work to occupy you there.
My plan is to put more into college-related articles between now and the end of March Madness.
So much to do...

Progress
Halo-- Love the templates. I think I love them enough that I might start copying them for overseas players and teams. The Navboxes are awesome. I suggest going with white letters on the dark blue background, however, since the black letters are nearly impossible to make out. About the lists. I don't see the need for a list of NBA players, coaches or seasons. They are already listed in their categories. It seems like a lot of work and redundant.
Keep up the good work!
Recent News
Halo--
I know the recent news section was your idea, and it is a good one. But if we're going to have a recent news section, we have to have recent news posted. When we have stale news posted, it indicates that no one is paying attention to the site. Most of the time I was I the only one keeping it current and I have too much other stuff to do to keep that up every day. Also, recent news on Hoopedia has to cover all aspects of bball, including Europe, Asia, women's ball, and that wasn't being done.
I think there are many other, better sources for hoops news on the web. When we can build up the Hoopedia community to the point where many people could monitor and update news regularly, we can revisit the idea.
NBA Player Template
Love it. See Template talk:NBA Player
News template
Nice job on creating 2008 NBA Finals page. Good thinking.
On the News section. Please keep in mind the following:
- If possible, include a link to news story at a reputable site. I notice you've been linking to IndyStar and NBA.com sometimes, which is good. Do include a link, though, if Hoopedia articles do not cover the story, which is almost all the time.
- Please check over for spelling and grammar before finalizing.
- If you include a dead link (to a non-existent Hoopedia article), put in at least a stub.
- Do not remove articles that are not stale. For example, the Olympics schedule and Erie D-League team. It's no big deal to leave them on for a while. On the other hand, we want to pull stories about game 1 of the playoffs when we're already at game 3.
I appreciate your zeal and commitment to this feature. Let's work together to make it a good one.

Images
Halo--
Please do not delete existing photos from articles, if there is nothing wrong with them. Try to move them to an appropriate location, if necessary.
I love the info boxes, but please don't use watermarked photos. They don't look good. If you search around for images already on Hoopedia and don't like them, then please find something appropriate on the web that's not marked up.
Thanks again.

Do you prefer the more current photos for the info boxes? Personally, I prefer the vintage photo-at their peak shot. Just wondering what you think.

NBA page
Halo--
If you want to post an article on NBA history, give it a title like "NBA: A Short History" or something. It would be just too confusing to have different articles for NBA and National Basketball Association.
