Brazil
From Hoopedia
Brazil has one of the most successful basketball programs in the world. Men's teams were World Champions in 1959 and 1963 and runner up in 1954 and 1970, Olympic bronze medal in 1948, 1960 and 1964 and won major South American championships. Women's teams have also enjoyed a good deal of success in international competitions like World champions in 1994, Olympics silver medal in 1996 and bronze in 2000. There are many national teams, however, for both men and women, divided according to age and event.
