Christian Eyenga Moenge (born June 22, 1989, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo) is a Congolese professional basketball player in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Early Career
Eyenga made his debut with Onatra Kinshasa during the 2006 season. He played there also the 2007 championship. He moved out of Congo and went to Spain for the 2007-08 season. He was signed by the Joventut Badalona, and also played with CB Prat.
NBA
Eyenga was selected in the first round (30th pick overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Back to Europe
On July 23, 2009, Eyenga thanked the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers for drafting him with the 30th overall pick, but he said he didn't feel ready for the NBA. The 6'5" Eyenga chose to sign a three-year contract extension with DKV Joventut. Terms of the deal were not available.
The Cavaliers have been assured by Eyenga's agent that they would not be subject to a future buyout.
