Eric Gordon Jr. (born December 25, 1988) is an American basketball player who plays Shooting guard for the New Orleans Hornets of the NBA. The 6-4, 215 lb. Gordon played his high school basketball at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He played college basketball at Indiana University for one season and was considered one of the top freshman in the nation. Gordon was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers as the seventh pick of the 2008 NBA Draft.

High School
Gordon led his team to the Indiana Class AAAA State championship in 2007. He was named to the 2007 McDonald's All American Team as a senior.
Recruiting Controversy
In November 2005, junior Eric Gordon verbally committed to the University of Illinois. After former Oklahoma head coach Kelvin Sampson took the men's basketball coaching job at Indiana University it is believed the Gordon family began communicating with Indiana University. In October 2006, Gordon de-commited from the University of Illinois and committed to Indiana University, his favorite school throughout childhood.
Space Jam Urban Legend
It was reported on ESPN Sportscenter and other media outlets that Gordon as a child played the role of Michael Jordan's son Marcus Jordan in the movie Space Jam. IMDB lists an "Eric Gordon", born circa 1989 as playing the role. However Eric Gordon said in a Chicago Sun Times article that he has only met Jordan twice; both times at Jordan's high school all-star games.
