Gregory "Greg" Keith Monroe, Jr.' (born June 4, 1990, in Harvey, Louisiana, USA) is an American professional basketball player who is currently playing for the NBA' Detroit Pistons. He was drafted by the Pistons in the 2010 NBA Draft with the 7th overall pick. In his freshman season at Georgetown University he was named Big East Rookie of the Year. He is 6'11" and plays the center position.

Greg Monroe was born Gregory Keith Monroe, Jr. on June 4, 1990, in Harvey, Louisiana to Gregory Sr. and Norma Jean Monroe.
High School
Monroe attended Helen Cox High School in Harvey, Louisiana. As a senior in 2008 he was selected to the McDonald's All-American Team and earned Parade Magazine All-America first team honors.

Monroe was selected in the first round (7th pick overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
