From Hoopedia
H-O-R-S-E is a variation of a quick game of basketball, where players take turns making various shots at different areas of the basketball court. There are no points or dribbling of defense. The player must rely on shooting. For instance if a player makes a shot from behind the three-point line, the opponent must make the shot at the same distance. A missed shot earns the player a letter until the player spells HORSE. If the player spells horse they lose. There is a shortened version of the game called P-I-G.
